Easter Portrait

Our family of three was lucky enough to have our extended family join us for the Easter holiday! Ron's parents, grandparents and his sister and her family drove down late Thursday evening. We had such a wonderful visit and packed in so many exciting things I thought I would share our attempt at a family picture of the kids with you first. Jody smocked Grant, George and Betty all matching Easter outfits which were stunning. Friday afternoon we dressed them in their Easter best for pictures with live bunnies! George and Grant were obsessed with the little critters!

Getting 3 children to cooperate for a photo is not an easy task, we had our entourage behind the photographer clapping, screaming, trying to get them to laugh or smile and we mostly ended up with expressions like this:

2nd Annual Crawfish Broil

Last Saturday, we got together with our neighbors for our annual crawfish broil at the Lowery house! We enjoyed a beautiful day outside and lots of great food. Grant had a great time playing with all of the neighborhood kids.

Hunting for Easter Eggs

Grant's Preschool hosted an Easter Egg Hunt and party last week. Grant was more than prepared because we have had several trial runs hunting for eggs in the backyard. Grammy wanted to make sure Grant knew exactly what to do at his first egg hunt and boy, did he ever!

Grant loves his teacher, Ms. Angie and we love Grant's school!

Our church hosted an Easter Eggstravaganza on Sunday after the 8:30 am mass and coffee social. Laurie and I took Grant and Luke for an Easter Egg Hunt and to meet the Easter Bunny.

Grant loves hunting for eggs and I must of had great eggspectations for Grant giving him such a large basket!

Once all the eggs had been collected, Grant wanted to start all over again and dumped his eggs out of the basket. Not long after, Luke followed suit.

Do Dinosaurs Eat Cheerios?

Well, Grammy left on Tuesday after a two week stay. It was sooo nice having my Mom here and having an extra pair of hands to help out with my very active toddler during the day. Unfortunately, I did not take very many pictures while she was here. My camera was sick and I was distraught. My camera is a HUGE part of my life and and plays a huge part in the making of this virtual scrapbook. Thankfully, my neighbor, Laurie was able to fix it the day before my Mom left. Don't ask me what she did, I don't think she even knows. The important thing is, it works so I can keep on blogging and doing my thang.

Grant loves his Grammy. He picked up a lot from her while she was here and they spent a lot of time together reading stories, singing songs and coloring. Grant says, "color, color" and gives the color crayon to her that he wants her to use. Any other color won't do. It has to be the one he selects. For those of you that don't know, my Mom is a retired teacher and has taught all grades including preschool, and kindergarten, for the majority of her career. There is not a nursery rhyme or song out there she doesn't know. Grant is going to know all of them by the time he goes to school, or maybe before he turns two?!

We all spent one afternoon diligently working on an Easter Egg tree in the front yard. Festive and fun! And the rest of this post is just pictures. I don't have anything clever to say, nothing exciting to report, just a growing little boy and a very proud Mom.

Yep, he still likes to ride everything like a pony. Meet his "ROAR!"

I came in from the backyard this morning and did a double take. Grant had fed his "ROAR" his cheerios. I praised him for having such great manners and sharing his snack. This is an example of what makes my job as "Mom" so much fun.

And for Ron, being a "Dad" comes natural, he and Grant adore eachother...

Spring has Sprung

Lately, I've been wondering if we bypassed Spring all together here and went straight into Summer. It is hot, I mean, HOT and I hate to think about what I'm going to have to suffer through in July. The good news is, with such fabulous weather we've been able to spend A LOT of time outdoors. This past week we ventured to the local fountain for Grant and Savannah to get out some energy and get wet!

Grant's Antics

Ever since the oh-so memorable pony ride birthday party, Grant has been removing my decorative elephant from its shelf and riding it like a horse.

I think my little one is a bit confused but it's sooo entertaining! Grant loves to stack his grapes up and down his arms instead of eating them. and in case you ever wondered what my child would look like as a red head, here's your answer,

Grant's new picnic table has a red umbrella and on this particular day the sun was shining down on it and him in such a way that my shot turned out like this, a red-headed Grant!

I DID IT!

For the past two months, every spare moment I've had, I've been hard at work taking the Alabama Real Estate Saleperson Online Course. Inbetween Grant's naps, preschool and with Ron's help on the weekends I'm finally finished and I PASSED that awful gruelling test. Yes, the rumors are true, it was HARD. Now, I could jump for joy, (and I have many, many times) to have that test behind me.

Now off to work I go, at least initially, very part-time for Bellator Real Estate. Wish me luck!
