Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Shortly after waking up on Easter morning, Grant and George were surprised by Easter baskets left by the Easter bunny!

We all waited outside to catch their reactions, George let Grant get a head start
Wow!
Within seconds, they were checking out eachother's baskets. Isn't that how it always works?

The Easter Bunny also hid eggs in the backyard for their own personal Easter Egg Hunt!

George was quick to gather all the eggs filled with candy

The eggs hidden in the wall have been spotted!

And this was the highlight of the Easter Egg Hunt. Nature calls...

Afterwards, Uncle Lanier read Grant and George a book George received in his basket

Yes, at last, a family photo minus Grandma and Grandpa

Good Friday and an Incoming...

Not long after Grant and I awoke on Good Friday Mimi, Poppy, Aunt Lesley, Uncle Lanier, George and Betty arrived after driving all night long to spend the Easter weekend with us! I know I have been slow in getting these pictures posted but it's only because there are soooo many and they are all too good not to share. Consequently, I'm breaking the Easter weekend into two separate posts because there is entirely too much to share.

Laurie was kind enough to let us borrow her jump castle for the weekend which provided loads of entertainment for the little ones. George and Grant had a blast together all weekend. Grant followed him around constantly and when he did stray from Grant's eyesight, Grant would yell, "GEORGE!" These two are inseperable.

Beautiful Betty has grown so much since our last visit and my first time meeting her in January. She is such a sweet and loving little lady. Grant loved kissing her and pointing and saying, "baby!"
After the boys behaved so well having their photo taken with the live bunnies and in the fabulous outfits Mimi smocked they were rewarded with a trip to the fountain. George had a ball!

You never know what you're going to get with Grant... one day he loves the fountain, the next, not so much. This day he was a little overwhelmed with the crowd.

On the contrary, George couldn't get enough!

Mimi and her boys

After which I said, Timeout! I want to be in A (at least one) photo...

After our fountain fun we enjoyed seafood at Wintzell's Oyster House.

Saturday morning we all took a day trip to the beautiful beaches of Alabama. The highlight would be Ron and I being interviewed by a local news station on the beach about tourism and the economy of Gulf Shores. Lesley had some great photos of the interview on her camera, one day I'll share. For now, take my word for it because after watching the six o'clock news we sadly discovered we didn't make the cut.

George and Grant playing in the sand, the weather was gorgeous!

Grandma and Grandpa taking in all the excitement

George loved jumping the waves!

Saturday evening was quite eventful after everyone took naps, we were all tired out after a long day at the beach. We grilled out and devoured sundaes, Yum-O.

Savannah came over to play and got mighty dirty, mighty fast with dyeing easter eggs and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Here she is in one of Grant's t-shirts. They had a blast!

Savannah's first ice cream cone. I believe they liked it, What do you think?

naked babies

We went out to eat with Drew and Laurie tonight. After what the boys would consider a long dinner they got to play in the fountain in their diapers and loved every second!

Easter Portrait

Our family of three was lucky enough to have our extended family join us for the Easter holiday! Ron's parents, grandparents and his sister and her family drove down late Thursday evening. We had such a wonderful visit and packed in so many exciting things I thought I would share our attempt at a family picture of the kids with you first. Jody smocked Grant, George and Betty all matching Easter outfits which were stunning. Friday afternoon we dressed them in their Easter best for pictures with live bunnies! George and Grant were obsessed with the little critters!

Enjoy the outtakes...

Petting their new friends

Getting 3 children to cooperate for a photo is not an easy task, we had our entourage behind the photographer clapping, screaming, trying to get them to laugh or smile and we mostly ended up with expressions like this:

After their "photoshoot!"

I love this one!

2nd Annual Crawfish Broil

Last Saturday, we got together with our neighbors for our annual crawfish broil at the Lowery house! We enjoyed a beautiful day outside and lots of great food. Grant had a great time playing with all of the neighborhood kids.

Grant loved jumping with Maddie and Aiden in the bouncy house

Best buds

Swinging with Luke and Camille
Watching the big kids take swings at the pinata

and then Grant decided he wanted to give it a go!

Grant dumped the entire bag of fritos out on the table, Hagan was right behind him to scoop them up!

After a long day of playing outdoors, Grant and Luke took a bath together

but hated to miss out on all the fun going on outdoors...

Here's a shot of all the kids that live on our street minus Luke.

Thank you Drew and Laurie for hosting such a great gathering once again!

Hunting for Easter Eggs

Grant's Preschool hosted an Easter Egg Hunt and party last week. Grant was more than prepared because we have had several trial runs hunting for eggs in the backyard. Grammy wanted to make sure Grant knew exactly what to do at his first egg hunt and boy, did he ever!

Go Grant! Halen is sneaking up behind you!

Watch out Grant, here comes Emma and Tyler! Scoping out the playground for any remaining eggs Grant's classmates, left-to-right: Carson, Grant, Halen, Tyler and Emma Grant's teacher made each of the kids their own Easter basket with their name one it and filled it with goodies. Grant loves his teacher, Ms. Angie and we love Grant's school!
Our church hosted an Easter Eggstravaganza on Sunday after the 8:30 am mass and coffee social. Laurie and I took Grant and Luke for an Easter Egg Hunt and to meet the Easter Bunny.

Grant loves hunting for eggs and I must of had great eggspectations for Grant giving him such a large basket!
Grant taking the egg hunt by storm!
This is Lillian, she and Grant were born on the same day!
Grant checking out his stash
Once all the eggs had been collected, Grant wanted to start all over again and dumped his eggs out of the basket. Not long after, Luke followed suit.
Grant meets the Easter Bunny and was not a fan. I was not supposed to have been in this picture!
Laurie and our boys...
and in case you're wondering where Ron was for all of this, he went to the Talladega Nascarr Race for some eggcitement of his own.
