Easter Egg Hunt(s)

I'm catching up with this post from two weekends ago.  Easter festivities were in full swing and we managed to attend two Easter Egg Hunts with our little man.  The first was held after 8:30 Mass on Sunday at our church and the second was a charitable picnic egg hunt at the Fairhope Park in the late afternoon.

 Grant was more interested in what was inside of the egg's.  He would pick up a few with no sense of urgency and then proceed to open them all to get the goodies out from the inside.

 After the hunt, we all enjoyed a little snack from the treat table.  Grant couldn't stay away from these pretty cupcakes!

 Grant approached this egg hunt like he did all the rest, he wanted the treats inside and was not concerned about the volume of eggs collected, just the instant gratification of finding a special treat.

 He did find a gold coin in one of his eggs that he became obsessed with because we told him it was pirate treasure!

Beach Day in March

Sounds too good to be true, right?  We have been experiencing some exceptional summer-like weather here in the deep south and I'm afraid that we are going to skip Spring all together.  Last weekend I caught the beach bug and begged Ron to take Grant and I down to Gulf Shores for the day.  A quick trip less than an hour away.  Afterall, who knows how many chances we'll get to go to the beach after James arrives in May.  Grant was thrilled about the trip and could not wait to get in the sand!  He was most excited about being reunited with his beach toys from last summer, he loves these fish diving toys.

Armed with his shovel, he could not wait to dig in the sand and upon finding our spot he started digging away for buried treasure.

Grant spotted many boats offshore and claimed they were pirate ships.  The water was pretty darn cold and little man wouldn't go anywhere near it.  Grant has a complex about getting his clothes/bathing suit wet that we need to overcome soon.  As soon as a wave splashes him he is frantic until we get him out of his wet clothes.  What to do?  And here is Momma, feeling like a beached well with all the cute Spring breakers lining the shore.  Oh, how times have changed.

March Birthdays

Grant has been attending some pretty awesome birthday parties as of late.  Two weeks ago we had a blast at his pal Emma's Pirates and Princesses 4th Birthday Party.  It was held at a nearby park and all the kids were dressed up.  This is the only shot I could get of the two of them together.

 The boys discover a huge bowl of cheese puffs.  They were all covered in orange after a good 20 minutes of stuffing themselves silly with the stuff.

 Last Saturday we helped celebrate Savannah's third birthday with a Mickey Mouse themed bash.  Minnie and Mickey both made an appearance, Grant would not go near them stating, "They are scary!"

 Grant pretty much followed Savannah around the birthday party like a little puppy dog screaming, "Nana" when she got out of his sight.  These two are inseperable.

 Savannah helped herself to several cupcakes and the end result of the icing all over her face was priceless!  She received several princess themed items which she dressed herself in after opening presents.  Happy Birthday Sweet Savannah!

Grandparents are Great

I know I've already mentioned Grandma and Grandpa drove from Illinois to visit us last Tuesday.  Well, the icing on the cake was Mimi and Poppy flying in for a visit as well on Thursday!  Grant was in heaven with all the love and attention and Ron and I thoroughly enjoyed all the hands on help.  We spent a lot of time relaxing and watching Grant do what he does best, perform!

 Mimi brought Grant his cousin, George's passed down Transformer Costume with her.  Grant was obsessed.  He wanted to wear it all weekend and actually wore this costume out to dinner that night.  Yep, we were those people with a Transformer at the table.

 Fortunately, the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival was going on all weekend and we went both Friday and Saturday.  There was so much to see and do, not to mention we had spectacular Summer like weather their entire visit.  Here's Grant with Grandma after being slathered in sunscreen and finding his sunglasses to wear in the bright sun.

 Grant was quite content with being strolled around and taking in the sights.  This kid has mastered the art of relaxation!

 We ran into Grant's buds, Savannah and Scarlett at the bubble wand tent and spent a good half hour here letting the kiddos play.  The bubble wands were a hit!

 Another highlight of the festival was the race car track, Grant loved watching them go around and round.  He did not want to leave this spot.

 Momma and Baby James at 32 weeks.  I'm getting along great, my ankles and legs are just starting to swell but it's not nearly as bad as what I experienced at this same stage with Grant.

Later that night we enjoyed grilling out and celebrating Grandpa Wendt's birthday!

Grant loved helping Grandpa blow out his candles.  Everyone left on Sunday and once again the end of their trip arrived way too soon.  We had so much fun and fit in so many fun things.  We are excited about all of them returning in a few short weeks when James makes his arrival!  Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Mimi and Poppy for coming to visit us, we love you!

Bad to the Bone

Ron's Grandparents, Ron and Betty traveled from Illinois to visit us and arrived last Tuesday with a special gift in tow.  A 1974 Harley Davidson Mini-Bike.  It's an item Ron's Grandpa has had in his "things that go" collection for quite some time and Ron thought it would be a perfect accessory in the Yaeger household.  I don't if accessory at this point is the correct word considering it's already at the shop awaiting a quote for a total work over/repair.  None the less, it's something Ron can enjoy working on with the boys and it's Grant's perfect size.  In fact, Grant thinks it is completely and only for him.

 After awhile of "pretend" driving it, Grant hopped off and exclaimed, "I need my helmet!"  We found his Sesame Street one and he excitedly climbed back on!

 Luke had to see what all the action was about, Grant had a hard time sharing this new treasure with his best bud.
