Aunt Beverly Visits!

My sister, Beverly chose to take her week of vacation and come down south from Philadelphia to visit me!  Oh, who am I kidding?  She came to see Grant!
Beverly arrived on Monday afternoon and it was so nice having her here.  We had not seen her since Thanksgiving!  On Wednesday she traveled to her old stomping grounds, New Orleans for Jazz Fest and returned back to our house on Saturday only to fly back to PA this morning.  It was a quick visit but oh, so fun!
Beverly and Grant got along famously and engaged in several tickle wars...
Welcome to my world...
We did a lot of sisterly things, stayed up late and enjoyed girl talk, drank wine and went shopping in the rain with this little guy.
I love my sister dearly and wish we got to see each other more often.  After taking this photo and examining it we decided we look nothing alike.  It's amazing were from the same parents, right?
Thank you Aunt Be-Be for coming to visit us, we love you!
On a side note, I suffered from a Mother's Day Meltdown this weekend.  Ron took Grant out for some early morning errands on Saturday and he came back looking much older.  Much more little boy looking.  On closer examination I discovered all of his curls were gone!  He has a big boy haircut and I shed quite a few tears over the loss of my baby or baby curls, (I'm not exactly sure which one?)
Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous Mom's out there!

Backyardigans

These pictures are long overdue.  They were taken one afternoon about three weeks ago of some backyard fun between Grant, Cameron and Camille.  The girls live next door to us and have become Grant's adopted big sisters.  We wait for Cameron to get off of the bus most afternoons around four and play until dinnertime with she and Camille.  They have the most fun and Grant looks for them everytime we go outside!
Check out Grant's golf swing!
This is literally how Grant greets Camille, with a big hug!  He holds onto her for dear life and is always so happy when she comes over to play!
The three amigos!
Sweet Camille, she's so good about telling me what Grant wants and needs.  Some of things I hear most are, "Grant told me he wants to play in the sandbox."  Grant wants me to change his diaper."  Grants wants to go upstairs and play!"
Luke and Grant love to play ball!
Camille loves to lead Grant around and hold hands!

Go Fish

We all enjoyed another busy weekend here in the house of Yaeger.  Sunday was filled with lots of fun and friends for Grant.  Luke came over Sunday morning and we broke out his swimming pool for the first time this season.  He and Luke had a great time wading in the water.
Laughing at his buddy
Sunday evening we headed over to Nathan's Dad's lake for some fishing.
Brooks and Grant had a crazy time watching over the fish that had been caught
Savannah joined in on the action and they took turns touching the fish and then screaming.  It was so entertaining to watch.  Grant also made sure everyone knew he could say "FISH!"
Savannah caught her first bass
Grant and Daddy caught a Permit
This kid does not want to be held back!  Grant's first fish!
Sweet Scarlett didn't want to miss out on the fun
Grant and Brooks taking a break from fishing to swing
After our fishing excursion, the kids all loaded up in the back of Nathan's truck to head home.  This was also a first for Grant.  Don't worry Dada was not far off to make sure he didn't go flying out over any big bumps!
Grant loved going fishing and Dada finally got to use his new fishing pole he bought over a year ago!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Shortly after waking up on Easter morning, Grant and George were surprised by Easter baskets left by the Easter bunny!

We all waited outside to catch their reactions, George let Grant get a head start
Wow!
Within seconds, they were checking out eachother's baskets. Isn't that how it always works?

The Easter Bunny also hid eggs in the backyard for their own personal Easter Egg Hunt!

George was quick to gather all the eggs filled with candy

Mimi helps point some out to Grant

The eggs hidden in the wall have been spotted!

And this was the highlight of the Easter Egg Hunt. Nature calls...

Afterwards, Uncle Lanier read Grant and George a book George received in his basket

Mimi and Poppy with their boys, (Betty was napping throughout all this excitement!)

Yes, at last, a family photo minus Grandma and Grandpa

George and Grant in the branches of the Live Oak at our church. Easter 2011 came and went in a blink of an eye. We had such a wonderful time with family and we are so thankful to you all for traveling so far! Love you and miss you already!

Good Friday and an Incoming...

Not long after Grant and I awoke on Good Friday Mimi, Poppy, Aunt Lesley, Uncle Lanier, George and Betty arrived after driving all night long to spend the Easter weekend with us! I know I have been slow in getting these pictures posted but it's only because there are soooo many and they are all too good not to share. Consequently, I'm breaking the Easter weekend into two separate posts because there is entirely too much to share.

Laurie was kind enough to let us borrow her jump castle for the weekend which provided loads of entertainment for the little ones. George and Grant had a blast together all weekend. Grant followed him around constantly and when he did stray from Grant's eyesight, Grant would yell, "GEORGE!" These two are inseperable.

Beautiful Betty has grown so much since our last visit and my first time meeting her in January. She is such a sweet and loving little lady. Grant loved kissing her and pointing and saying, "baby!"
After the boys behaved so well having their photo taken with the live bunnies and in the fabulous outfits Mimi smocked they were rewarded with a trip to the fountain. George had a ball!

You never know what you're going to get with Grant... one day he loves the fountain, the next, not so much. This day he was a little overwhelmed with the crowd.

On the contrary, George couldn't get enough!

Mimi and her boys

After which I said, Timeout! I want to be in A (at least one) photo...

After our fountain fun we enjoyed seafood at Wintzell's Oyster House.

Saturday morning we all took a day trip to the beautiful beaches of Alabama. The highlight would be Ron and I being interviewed by a local news station on the beach about tourism and the economy of Gulf Shores. Lesley had some great photos of the interview on her camera, one day I'll share. For now, take my word for it because after watching the six o'clock news we sadly discovered we didn't make the cut.

George and Grant playing in the sand, the weather was gorgeous!

Grandma and Grandpa taking in all the excitement

George loved jumping the waves!

Saturday evening was quite eventful after everyone took naps, we were all tired out after a long day at the beach. We grilled out and devoured sundaes, Yum-O.

Savannah came over to play and got mighty dirty, mighty fast with dyeing easter eggs and drawing with sidewalk chalk. Here she is in one of Grant's t-shirts. They had a blast!

Savannah's first ice cream cone. I believe they liked it, What do you think?

naked babies

We went out to eat with Drew and Laurie tonight. After what the boys would consider a long dinner they got to play in the fountain in their diapers and loved every second!
