Beach Week Comes to an End

I'm finally back to wrap up the pictures from our trip to Destin.  We had a great vacation.  We swam, spent a lot of time at the beach and pool.  We worked on our tans.  We ate and ate and ate.  I read a book.  Grant played with his early birthday toys from Mimi and Poppy.  Ron and Jim played golf several days.  We shopped.  Basically we did whatever we wanted to do for seven days and it was fabulous.
Grant loved all the quality time with his Mimi and I think she enjoyed it too

We made it to Another Broken Egg Cafe that everyone told us we must absolutely had to visit during our stay.  We were not disappointed and devoured the most excellent breakfast!
Jody had a salmon omelet
and of course, I went with the sweeter option, I had a belgian waffle which was amazing!
Grant fed a lot of fish at several different locations...
These fishies were by far the largest and most impressive.  There were swarms of them and Grant took his sweet time with passing out the fish food.  One. kernel. at. a. time.

We had to take the fun indoors several times throughout the week because of crazy wild storms.  Gratefully, they didn't last long and the sun always came back out within a few hours.
Grant and his Mama, which in fact, he now calls me "Mommy"

My loves

Contrary to Grant's face here, he had a blast "swimmin."  He awoke each morning rearing to go!

We endured more storms and then my camera broke.  Yup.  Again.  Luckily it stopped working the day before we left so I was able to capture the majority of our trip.  Hopefully I can get it fixed quickly.
Overall, Destin was amazing!  We had an excellent vacation and loved spending the week with Mimi and Poppy.  We are already talking about beach week 2012 with hopefully Grant's cousins included!

Beach Pics of Grant

Momma got a little camera happy this afternoon with my precious almost, two year old.  I put Grant in the outfit Mimi made for him for my brother's wedding and armed him with props.  Yes, those are store bought star fish.  It was a small price to pay for awesome photos on a beach with zero shells.  I love the pictures of Grant running, which ones are your faves?

Destin, So Far...

Well, I did it, I let Ron and I's Fifth wedding anniversary pass my readers by with not so much as a word marking the date.  August 5th was a fabulous day.  We celebrated with a night out at a fantastic restaurant in Fairhope and had the most amazing steaks.  We agreed not to buy each other gifts because we were leaving for Destin the next day on a weeks vacation and wanted to enjoy our time here and be able to buy something "special" when we saw it.  Friday evening I showed a house and on my way home had a hunch Ron had planned something special.  After exchanging "happy anniversaries" I stated, "Where is it?" and my non-gifting intentions went right out the window.  I did receive a special surprise and yes, it is fabulous and sparkly.  I have documented previous anniversaries and if you have a lot of time to kill at work you can check out our third anniversary HERE and our fourth anniversary HERE
On to our Yaeger Family Vacay 2011, Destin, FL edition.  We arrived in Destin on Saturday afternoon and we're staying at a condo in the Sandestin Westwinds, the building on the left.  I am armed with my DSLR and my laptop so updates are inevitable!  Enjoy our pictures and know, there is more fun to be had and more pictures to come!
Sweet Grant, enjoying the beach on our first full day here.  He LOVES playing in the sand which has not been the case in past visits to the beach.
The ocean has been like a lake since our arrival with no real waves.  We have been enjoying the water!

We are lucky enough to have Ron's parents join us for the week.  We are loving our time together and Grant is loving having his Mimi and Poppy here!

We visited a shopping centre on the intracoastal waterway called, Harbourwalk and Grant rode the choo choo with Dada

In the News

A couple of weeks ago, Ron and I attended a Luau benefiting Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.  I had my picture taken on the "pink carpet" and it ended up in Mobile's Access Magazine.  Pretty Neat!
Last Sunday I was recognized in Mobile's Press Register Newspaper for being Bellator's top listing agent in the Spanish Fort office.  I hope this happens for many more months to come!  I now have a whopping, nine listings.  Here's hoping they sell very soon!

Pool Day

Last Friday, my friend Allison invited Grant and I to join her for the morning at her pool!  We jumped at the chance and met her there before they even turned on the fountains.  It was a great way to start our day!
Allison's little boy, Hugh at 17 months is already a very good, brave swimmer
Hugh and Grant, took a break from the swimming to enjoy a snack and also watch Hugh's big sister, Scarlett swim with her Mommy.

Grant loves the water and loved wading in the baby pool

"Boat, Boat!"
All the kiddos tired very quickly and we left before the storms set in...
Upon pulling into our driveway we were met by this trio who helped me feed Grant his lunch and prepare for naptime.
Camille, the youngest said, "Grant doesn't want to nap, he wants to play upstairs with me!"  Grant loves his older sisters!
