Sip and See
While in North Carolina, Grant met all of his Grandmama's closest friends at a "Sip and See" in his honor. It was great introducing my Mom's life long friends to her first Grandchild. She was so proud and it was great seeing all of these great ladies again.

Recipe Wednesday
I've decided to take the lead from other fellow bloggers who list their favorite recipes or recipes they've recently tried on certain days of the week. I'm always searching for easy, great recipes to try and I hope that in turn by me posting my fave of the week I'll be helping someone out in the kitchen as well! Last night Ron and I enjoyed a new recipe I found on another bloggers website and it was de-lish! I'm stealing it from her for all of you to enjoy. Here's how she broke it down:
if you are in search for a simple and i mean SIMPLE meal, do this:
place six chicken breasts and two jars of salsa {i used medium} in a crock pot. cook on low for 6 hours {or on high for 3.5...i procrastinated a little bit that day}. shred chicken and mix in some block cream cheese {i dont know how much...just mixed until i thought it was enough}. serve over rice.

I used one block of cream cheese, sprinkled monterey jack cheddar cheese on top and served over white rice. It was super easy and the best part is there were tons of leftovers!

1, 2, 3!
So, I haven't been able to find our camcorder. I think I hid it in a drawer before we had company over trying to clean up and now I can't figure out which drawer it was! I took this video on my old camera so the quality is less than stellar but Grant has been especially cute lately. Enjoy the video of me working with him and trying to teach him how to sit up.

Wedding Weekend in NC
My great friend Emily wed my great friend Shelley's older brother last weekend, therefore Grant and I set out on a great adventure and his first trip to North Carolina! We flew into Raleigh on Thursday the 5th and I was overjoyed to be spending a week in North Carolina with family and friends. Finally, everyone was going to be able to meet my baby boy! Grant did beautifully on the plane ride, he slept the majority of the way there. We had a layover in Charlotte and arrived in Raleigh around 5pm. My mom and Jessica's Mom came and spent the night with all of us at Jessica's house Thursday night. Upon arrival, my Mom lost it. She had not seen Grant since he was three weeks old and it had been killing her. She cried more seeing him then than she did when he was born and/or when she left us to go back home. The seperation from her first Grandbaby has been very difficult, it was great to finally see her! We spent the night with Jessica, celebrated her birthday and early Friday morning I got ready for Emily's Bridesmaids Luncheon in Cary. Oh, the joy of seeing all of my friends after many, many months of just phone calls/emails. I miss my friends sooooo much. We had a great time at the luncheon, celebrated Emily's upcoming nuptuials and then I finally introduced them to Grant. He loved all the pretty ladies and I was so proud. Emily made a beautiful bride and she and her hubbie, Jason are the perfect couple. Overall, the weekend was wonderful and I forgot to mention how great it felt to get dressed up and venture out for a night with friends and know Grant was in good hands. It was good to be home.
Grant and I on the plane, everyone was so helpful. I anticipate traveling with him now is much easier than it will be in a year when he's mobile!

Will you be my Godmommy?
My good friend, Jessica came to visit us last week and to meet Grant for the first time! Grant and I picked her up from the Pensacola Airport Monday night. It was so wonderful seeing a familiar face and spending a few days with her while showing her around this place we call home. :) I had a special surprise planned for her visit, I asked her to be Grant's Godmother! Jessica's birthday was Thursday the 5th so for her birthday I gave Jessica a framed picture of Grant. I photoshopped a bubble coming out of Grant's mouth with the inscription, "Aunt Jessie, will you be my Godmommy?" Needless to say she was very surprised and thankfully agreed to be a big part of our son's life! Ron and I believe that a Godparent should be someone outside of your family that you want to be a major influence in your child's upbringing and their relationship with God and the church. Jessica, one of my oldest and dearest friends is the perfect person for the job. She and I were the best of friends throughout elementary and high school and spent many summers at church camp, growing in our faith together. Not to mention, she loves children and is going to be a great Mom herself very soon! :) She stayed with us until last Thursday and flew back with Grant and I to North Carolina and was HUGE help on the airplane. Grant loves his Godmommy, thanks Aunt Jessie for coming to visit us!
Jessica loved the little town of Fairhope, we enjoyed
lunch at Panini Pete's and shopped all day!
