Art Show

Saturday, Grant's Pre-School hosted an Art Show Open House for the students parents.  Ron and I were excited to attend because this was our first "real" school event with Grant.  Grant was very proud to show off all of his hard work and thrilled to be at school with Mommy and Daddy.

 After showing off his artwork and bidding on silent auction items we went outside for Grant to play with some of his buds and to eat hotdogs and hamburgers.

The Yaeger Boys

Sorry about the quality of these photos, after all, they are pictures of pictures.  Grant came home from school last week with these and they melted my heart...

 Ron and I received a welcome surprise yesterday at my ultrasound appointment when the technician turned on the 4D machine!  We were able to catch glimpses at James' face!  He is rather large at this time weighing approximately 6 pounds 6 ounces and unfortunately, his face looks smooshed!  There's not much room in there for the little guy to stretch out and strike a pose.  Looks like he will have those gorgeous lips his brother donned when born!

Happy Easter!

We were lucky enough to have my Mom here with us for Easter this year.  Ron and I took full advantage of having her around and decided to go on a date on Easter Eve.  Earlier in the day, Ron had without my permission, taken Grant for a haircut and he came home looking like this.  I cried.  Although the cut is growing on me now, it was a shock not only because he looks like such a big boy but because all the curls and the blond were gone.  Hmmmppphhh.

The Easter Bunny was very good to Grant this year.  He realized Grant had been actively playing in the dirt often and decided he was in need of a giant dumptruck for all those loads of dirt to haul around.

We attended the 8:30 Mass on Easter morning and as a result Grant received his Easter surprise after church.  We would have never gotten him out of the house and off to church otherwise...

Grant was very excited about his dinosaur egg that was in his truck.  We put the egg in water and 48 hours later, we had a baby triceratops.  He loved watching the egg hatch.

"Sprinkling" James

Last Saturday my girlfriends threw a small shower a "sprinkle" if you will, to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby James.  It was held at Kimmy's beautiful home and I received a lot of personalized beautiful things to help welcome this baby boy into the world in style!

Thankfully my Mom was able to be here for the celebration, so glad she got to be apart of the day and get to know my friends better

The most exciting gift came from Lindsay, she gifted our family a "family sized" swimming pool for the hot days ahead.  Hillarious!

Easter Egg Hunt(s)

I'm catching up with this post from two weekends ago.  Easter festivities were in full swing and we managed to attend two Easter Egg Hunts with our little man.  The first was held after 8:30 Mass on Sunday at our church and the second was a charitable picnic egg hunt at the Fairhope Park in the late afternoon.

 Grant was more interested in what was inside of the egg's.  He would pick up a few with no sense of urgency and then proceed to open them all to get the goodies out from the inside.

 After the hunt, we all enjoyed a little snack from the treat table.  Grant couldn't stay away from these pretty cupcakes!

 Grant approached this egg hunt like he did all the rest, he wanted the treats inside and was not concerned about the volume of eggs collected, just the instant gratification of finding a special treat.

 He did find a gold coin in one of his eggs that he became obsessed with because we told him it was pirate treasure!

Beach Day in March

Sounds too good to be true, right?  We have been experiencing some exceptional summer-like weather here in the deep south and I'm afraid that we are going to skip Spring all together.  Last weekend I caught the beach bug and begged Ron to take Grant and I down to Gulf Shores for the day.  A quick trip less than an hour away.  Afterall, who knows how many chances we'll get to go to the beach after James arrives in May.  Grant was thrilled about the trip and could not wait to get in the sand!  He was most excited about being reunited with his beach toys from last summer, he loves these fish diving toys.

Armed with his shovel, he could not wait to dig in the sand and upon finding our spot he started digging away for buried treasure.

Grant spotted many boats offshore and claimed they were pirate ships.  The water was pretty darn cold and little man wouldn't go anywhere near it.  Grant has a complex about getting his clothes/bathing suit wet that we need to overcome soon.  As soon as a wave splashes him he is frantic until we get him out of his wet clothes.  What to do?  And here is Momma, feeling like a beached well with all the cute Spring breakers lining the shore.  Oh, how times have changed.
