Go Grant!
Sorry I've been slack lately about updating the good 'ole blog. What can I say? I've been busy. I'm leaving for NC this Friday for two weeks and I have been running around crazy preparing for the holiday in the few down moments I can with a three and a half month old. I'm so excited to be coming home for the holidays and experiencing Christmas with the best gift I've ever received, my sweet baby boy! Grant has been making huge strides lately in the milestone department. It all started Thanksgiving weekend when my Mom-in-law, Jody was able to get Grant to take a bottle. Can we say Praise the Lord! He's been doing great ever since and I have even given him rice cereal mixed in with the breastmilk. He likes the medela bottles after trying every kind on the market.
Two Sundays ago, Grant was in his crib napping, I went to check on him on the baby monitor and found him doing this! I yelled for Ron and we ran upstairs in time to snap a picture of the first time he discovered his feet! Our video monitor is one of the best purchases I've ever made! He's also now sleeping without his swaddle and sleep positioner as well.
He's now in love with his feet (or new toys!) It's so cute to watch and he's starting to try to sit up and reach them when he's propped up on the boppy or in his carseat.

Grant's Christening
Grant officially became a Catholic on November 29th, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We had a private ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, AL and all of our family was present. It was a very special ceremony and a very memorable one at that. Grant cried the entire time. It was very stressful for me with trying to keep him quiet, he was basically in dire need of a nap and dressing him in his christening gown upon arriving at the church set him off. Sure enough, he fell asleep immediately after the ceremony allowing us to get some great family photos. It was a very special day and it made it even more special to have our family and closest friends there.
I'm laughing at Kimmy here because I have my finger in Grant's mouth trying to quiet him down. Kimmy thankfully took photos throughout the ceremony.
enjoyed having the water poured on his head.

Christening Gown
Ron's Mom, Jody, made the most incredible Heirloom Christening Gown for Grant. She spent six plus months slaving over the project and the end result is absolutely amazing. All of the embroidery was done by hand and is truely a sight! I'm very lucky to have such a talented Mother-in-law to make such wonderful things for Grant and the gown is so special.

Give Thanks
Grant's first Thanksgiving was amazing! We were so lucky to have all of our family drive from North Carolina and Illinois to spend the holiday with us. All the women spent the majority of the day in the kitchen preparing our feast while the men of course watched football. My Dad mentioned that Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday and now I truely understand why (see photo below.) The food was fabulous, the company was great and we all have so much to be thankful for! What a great day it was.

I was thankful for this amazing food and the
best tasting cranberry sauce I've ever had!
Thankful for family
And most of all, I'm thankful for my precious, sweet, loving, adorable baby boy!
